The Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve is a barrier reef that forms the largest atoll in Mexico and the second largest on the planet. This atoll is part of the 1996 Mexico Reef Reserve. Also this place has been a great trap for navigation and is full of remains of ships stranded and sunken during the last 500 years, among which we can highlight Spanish and English ships of the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
